Haneen Suomi Choir

Haneen Suomi Choir, lead by Mrs Fardoos Helal, performs for us in the evening reception on 18th March. The choir concists of women of Syrian origin and they sing traditional songs from Syria. The choir name Haneen means longing in English.

Besides singing, the choir has also social purposes: the choir strengthens friendship, promotes social interaction, gives psychological support, and relieves the tension caused by life crises. Singing evokes strong emotions and helps to cope in life. Activities help Arabic-speaking women to integrate into society.

Haneen women believe in group power, so the choir is part of the Haneen Choir Network, which sings around the world.
